Chris Hemsworth's 8 Most Underrated Movies. Fight Me on Number One, I Won't Back Down.

Everyone knows the hammer. Way fewer people saw the race car, the robot, the heist or the cabin. Eight Hemsworth movies that deserved more tickets.

Number one got a C CinemaScore. I'll still take it over Endgame.

  1. 8The Avengers poster
    The Avengers (2012)9.0
Thor is the most underrated Avenger in the original.
$1.52 billion worldwide, an A+ CinemaScore, and everybody quotes Downey and Ruffalo. Hemsworth plays a space god with a straight face. Nobody gives him credit for how hard that is.
  2. 7Avengers: Infinity War poster
Infinity War is secretly the best Thor movie.
Guru's Take of 8.6, IMDb 8.4, and Hemsworth gets the arc with actual weight in it. The knock: it's crowded, and he shares screen time with half the universe.
  3. 6Thor: Ragnarok poster
    Thor: Ragnarok (2017)8.7
Waititi gets the credit. Hemsworth earned half of it.
93% on Rotten Tomatoes, $855M worldwide. The jokes land because Hemsworth commits like a guy who just found out he's funny. Guru's Take is 8.1 because the middle drags.
  4. 5Transformers One poster
The best Transformers movie flopped and nobody noticed.
8.5 movie.guru score, an A CinemaScore, then just $59.1M domestic against a reported $75M to $147M budget. Better than most of the live action robot movies. Fewer people went.
  5. 4Crime 101 poster
    Crime 101 (2026)6.5
Crime 101 is the grown-up heist movie nobody showed up for.
88% on Rotten Tomatoes, $36.6M domestic on a reported $90M budget. The B CinemaScore tells you it's slow. Guru's Take is 7.3 because slow is kinda the point.
  6. 3Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga poster
Dementus is Hemsworth's best performance, and theaters shrugged.
Metacritic 79, Guru's Take 8.2, and only $67.5M domestic on a reported $168M budget. He chews every scene like it owes him gas money. The story drags in spots. He never does.
  7. 2Rush poster
    Rush (2013)8.3
Rush is the best racing movie America skipped.
IMDb 8.1 from over 569,000 voters, and just $26.9M domestic. Ron Howard directing, real stakes, real rivalry. The one knock: Daniel Brühl kinda steals it out from under him.
  8. 1The Cabin in the Woods poster
The Cabin in the Woods beats Endgame. I said it.
Audiences gave it a C CinemaScore. Critics gave it 92%. Guru's Take: 8.4. Endgame's: 7.8. Endgame has the 9.4 movie.guru score and the crowd. Cabin has the better idea.
Change my mind. Rank these from most to least underrated. Endgame fans, wrong answers only.

$461.53 says somebody defends Endgame in the comments without ever having watched The Cabin in the Woods.
